2024 Volkswagen Jetta: A Familiar Name with New Enhancements

The Volkswagen Jetta has long been a popular choice in the compact sedan segment, known for its blend of performance, comfort, and value. For the 2024 model year, Volkswagen has given the Jetta a few key updates to keep it competitive in the ever-evolving automotive landscape.

The 2024 Jetta’s interior has also been updated with a few new features. The center console is now home to a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and the instrument panel has been redesigned with a more modern look. The seats are now more comfortable and supportive, and there is more legroom and headroom for both front and rear passengers.

The Jetta keeps its classic boxy design, but with a few subtle updates that give it a more modern and refined look. The front grille is now wider and more aggressive, and the headlights are now slimmer and sleeker. The side profile is largely unchanged, but the rear end has been redesigned with new taillights and a new bumper.

The new Jetta comes standard with a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 158 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. A new TRD Desert Air Intake is available for TRD models, which Volkswagen claims can improve airflow and performance.

The Jetta’s fuel economy is not the best in its class, but it is still respectable for a compact sedan. The EPA estimates that the Jetta gets 31 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway.

The new Volkswagen Jetta comes standard with a suite of driver-assistance features, including automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. Available safety features include blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a head-up display.

It also comes standard with a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. The system also includes a SiriusXM® satellite radio subscription. Available technology features include a navigation system, a JBL® sound system, and a wireless charging pad.
